Welcome to my web pages, where you'll find my stories of long-distance cycle rides on both conventional machines and recumbent trikes, plus links and resources relating to recumbent trikes (the choice of the relaxed cyclist, as you can see). I live in Reading in the UK and ride long-distance non-competitive events. These are known here as audax events and in the USA as brevets or randonnées. You can find more information about the rules and nature of audax by clicking here This isn't the official Audax UK website. If that's what you're seeking (and why not?), click here My accounts of rides, most of which were originally published in the Audax UK magazine Arrivée, are grouped into upright Tall Stories and recumbent Low Tales In the stories you will see occasional references to 'AAA points.' Audax Altitude Award points are a means of identifying hilly rides: More points mean more hills. Certain derAAAnged individuals seek out rides in this category. Am I one such sad case? Judge for yourself... You'll find various recumbent trike links on the Trike Links page. Latest changes: A 400 km overnight ride from home to Scarborough in late November... Mmm, sounds fun! Read the unvarnished truth here. I enjoyed riding Paris-Brest-Paris 1999 on a low trike. Would Paris-Brest-Paris 2003 be even more enjoyable on an extremely low trike? Find out here.
